Ludlow Castle Motor Club Ltd's Malcolm and Elaine Oxborrow took part in Brecon Motor Club's Black Mountains Classic tour at the weekend.
Starting from Three Cocks the 124 mile route set off in a southerly direction over the Llangattock Escarpment before dropping down to an unsurfaced section through the private Glan Usk Estate. Morning coffee was at Ewyas Harold where the 70 entries enjoyed the WI cakes.
Part 2 headed west over the Eastern side of the Black Mountains for another break of 1 hour at Hay on Wye.
The last section of 45 miles meandered around the Wales/England border and this is where the rain started necessitating those crews in soft top cars to quickly close the hoods. Lots of traditional road rally lanes led to the finish at Rhos Goch Golf Club for a welcome carvery and well earned drink.
A great day out superbly organised by Brecon MCs enthusiastic team.
